When I have a little more time, I'll be adding pictures from last week's holiday in Florence to the gallery. In the meantime, here's a taster. Yes, in real life it also looks like a cross between a well-decorated cake and a space-station.

In reality it was slightly lighter, the part just before twilight becomes darkness. Presumably the floodlighting of the building made the camera view the sky as darker by contrast.
Yes - it could be the Nostromo or Red Dwarf!
I've got some Paris streetscapes coming if my diskspace works out.
