Last Friday I went to see the Thames Barrier for the first time, despite the fact that it's only fifteen minutes down the road from us. In a day whose bizarre weather seemed to change every hour or so, I chanced upon a period of uninterrupted sunshine (which still did nothing to dispel the bitter cold). Inevitably, there are pictures.

Next time I'll take the Woolwich Ferry (which I've also never seen) over to the Thames Barrier Park on the north of the river.

These are wonderful, as usual. I have never been to see these either, but your photos brought back memories of having seen them in a James Bond movie...

Thanks, Sue. I don't remember that - do you recall which one it was?

I'm 99% certain it was "The World Is Not Enough"... Bond ends up on the roof of the Millennium Dome....

Heh, "Dome & Dogs."

That caption scores you a point. Try not to catch your death in the fog.
