On Saturday evening, in the very pleasant company of several of my favourite bloggers, the conversation turned to the subject of memory loss. I wondered aloud what would happen if you were to be afflicted by amnesia and found yourself in the position of having to rebuild your entire personality based only on what you could read in your blog's archives.

There was raucous laughter, followed by a period of white-faced silence as all present contemplated the prospect.

Judging by the number of times I've said "I can't go into specifics now" or "I'll tell you later" and then swept the topic under the rug, I would probably conclude that I was leading a much more interesting life than I actually was. Possibly as a spy.

Nah, I've completely forgotten that conversation.

(Yes, I know. It's a very bad punchline. But someone had to say it).

I've thought about it more now.

Have you noticed how it's been quiet on WYA since last Thursday?
